Yes, to a degree. That is pretty slow for that CPU. I wouldn't employ anything less than 3200mhz unless y'all have to. If yous can't render that RAM, it would probably fifty-fifty be worth selling it and ownership another set. Y'all should be able to use simply about any ii x8GB or ii x16GB fix of 3200-3600mhz sticks and so long as you are on B450, X470 or X570. It might be a scrap trickier if you are on an older chipset like B350 or X370. Be sure you have the latest BIOS update installed as well if y'all practise attempt to use annihilation over 2933mhz.

Besides, the latest AMD chipset driver.

Using that slower retention Volition have SOME impact on overall performance, merely if there are no other options, then it will withal "work" until you can maybe brand a change at some point down the road.

Not every compatible ram will be listed on qvl lists, just no time to test them all and that'due south including recently released ram later the mobo'due south debut.

See single vs dual channel. If y'all can help it, dual aqueduct is important for functioning.

Mixing ram isn't guaranteed and ram will clock down to the lowest component. If y'all're keeping the Corsair, there's no point ownership a unmarried 3200 stick.

Advice is to buy a gear up. Ram preference for me is besides Gskill. 3200 with timing of CL fourteen. CL 14 being, that these are using Samsung bdie IC fries, chips ram manufacturers use. They're the best but can exist a bit more pricey merely compatibility and performance is second to none. Other IC fries, ie Micron/Hynix are usually found on college CL ram from fifteen+ at speeds of 3000/3200.

That's mean I should buy the aforementioned stick (Corsair LPX 3000 instead of 1000.SKILL?)I will exist keeping the LPX.

Yeah, keep same specs to increase your chances. Not only speed, but timings and voltage too. Even then, there is a gamble ram made at dissimilar times may non like each other. Ram and motherboards tin can be sensitive to different materials used over time.

Mixing ram will probably work but in that location is that take a chance.

What country are yous in?

What is your upkeep for the memory kit?

I would not suggest trying to mix that existing memory module with another stick or kit. On Intel, it would be a curl of the die as to whether it would work, piece of work in dual channel or not play nice at all.

On Ryzen, it is MORE than likely to not want to play nice at all. It's difficult enough to get KITS that were INTENDED for use with the platform to work properly and at the proper speed, much less trying to use mixed sticks or kits and expecting them to play dainty together. I don't retrieve it's worth the hassle you lot will likely end upward going through. Y'all could get lucky, just I'one thousand not hopeful based on what I run into here every twenty-four hour period.

As in a unmarried stick to pair with your existing stick? If so, that is all the same classed as mixing.

Don't go me wrong, because you Tin mix memory on Ryzen and take success. I can link to two or three threads here where people have washed it successfully. The problem is, I tin link to about three hundred threads where mixed memory didn't work on 1st, 2nd OR 3rd Gen Ryzen platforms OR where even buying memory that SHOULD work, and WAS purchased in a matched gear up, wouldn't, and nevertheless another different set of sticks worked fine. Ryzen is fickle when information technology comes to memory, fifty-fifty with a 3000 serial CPU. Especially if you are using said CPU on an older chipset similar B450, but even on X570 we've seen fickle-ness likewise.

I just think it makes sense to eliminate as many potential route blocks and headaches as possible or you'll cease upward similar me with all your hair turning grayness practically overnight. :)

I would. It's but better, and less likely to end up with grief. I'd look at something in the 3200mhz range, with a CL latency of no more than 16, so, CL16, CL14. Try to avert sticks that have a CL15/CAS 15 primary CAS latency. Ryzen besides doesn't particularly like odd numbered timings. It seems to be MORE reliable to become with sticks that accept something like 16, xvi, sixteen or 16-18-eighteen etc.
